Being drowned out of Country quarters a week sooner than usual, I gave that week to the Dss of Beaufort, , the &c &c at Stoke. We had many interesting scenes, and it pleased God to enable me to be more bold than I ever was in my life. I do not however flatter myself that any thing was done, except making some of the party uncomfortable – but the dog will return to his Vomit.
